The Old Synagogue, coming from the 15th century, is one of the oldest structures of this type built in Poland.
The walls of the old synagogue witnessed many critical events in the history of Poland: Tadeusz Kościuszko spoke in front of the synagogue, President Ignacy Mościcki visited it. Currently, the Old Synagogue is a branch of the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow, inside very rich collections have been gathered, including unique historic monuments of the Jewish history and culture. Every year, on the square in front of the synagogue, the Saturday concert Shalom at Szeroka is held as part of the Jewish Culture Festival.
